QC/T 566-2024 External protection for passenger car 1 Scope This document specifies the terms and definitions, requirements and test methods of external protection for passenger car. This document is applicable to Category M1 vehicles, and may serve as a reference for other vehicles. 2 Normative references The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. GB/T 18385 Electric vehicles - Power performance - Test method GB/T 31498-2021 Post crash safety requirement for electric vehicle 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 bumper beam structural device used for mitigating damage caused by frontal and rear collisions of a vehicle Note: It is generally mounted on the ends of the left and right longitudinal beams of a vehicle. 3.2 protection system internally mounted components and devices for restraining occupants 3.3 vehicle width vehicle body width measured at vehicle wheel brow Note: Vehicle width does not cover rearview mirrors, side marker lamps, tire pressure gauge, side turning lamps, end-outline marker lamp, flexible fenders, and deformed parts of the sidewalls of the tires in contact with the ground. 3.4 overlap percentage of the vehicle part in direct contact with the barrier surface to the vehicle width 3.5 unladen mass mass of vehicle in operating condition, excluding the driver, occupants and cargo, but 90% of the total capacity (and/or including on-board energy storage devices) shall be filled into the fuel tank (if any), with capacity of coolant and lubricating oil meeting the manufacturer's requirements, and equipped with on-board tools and spare tire (if such parts are supplied as standard equipment by the vehicle manufacturer) 3.6 rigid barrier curved obstacles made of steel 3.7 mobile barrier mobile trolley with a rigid barrier fixed at the front end 3.8 bumper barrier device mounted on a rigid, immovable fixed barrier and adjustable in height Note: See Annex A. 3.9 passenger compartment space for occupant accommodation, enclosed by the roof, floor, side walls, door, glass window, front wall, rear wall or rear seat backrest support plate, and electrical protection barrier and outer shell for preventing occupants from contacting live components 4 Requirements 4.1 Static requirements for bumper 4.1.1 Effective height of bumper beam After completing the static test of bumper as specified in 5.2.1 to 5.2.3, the effective coincidence size of the anti-collision beam shall not be less than 75mm; If the effective coincidence dimension of the bumper beam is less than 75mm, and the effective height of the bumper beam shall not be less than 100mm. 4.1.2 Effective width ratio of bumper beam After completing the static test of bumper as specified in 5.2.4 to 5.2.6, the effective width ratio of bumper beam shall not be less than 70%. 4.2 Dynamic and low-speed collision requirements for bumper After completing the dynamic test and low-speed collision test of bumper as specified in 5.3 and 5.4 respectively, the vehicle shall meet the following requirements: a) the front and rear windscreens and the left and right door glass shall be free from damage; b) the door shall be opened normally; c) the oil supply system and cooling system of the vehicle shall be free of leakage, and the sealing devices, oil and water tank covers shall work normally. For hybrid electric vehicles and battery electric vehicles, after the collision test, the power high-voltage systems of the vehicle, such as rechargeable electrical energy storage system (REESS), and the high-voltage components connected to it shall simultaneously meet the requirements for electric shock protection and electrolyte leakage requirements in GB/T 31498-2021 and REESS requirements; d) the left and right longitudinal beams shall not be bent or crushed, and the end faces of the longitudinal beams are allowed to be damaged; e) the protection systems (safety-belts and airbags) and active hoods shall not be in an irrecoverable state.
