Textiles - Technical specification for identification of fiber content 1 Scope This document specifies the labelling, marking and tolerance requirements for fibre content of textile products, as well as test methods and conformity assessment. This document applies to the identification of fiber content of textile products sold in China. Note: Annex A provides examples of textile products that may be exempted. 2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. Examples include fabrics, knitting yarns, gloves, socks, scarves, masks, face towels, arm sleeves, wrist supports and garments for infants in direct contact with the skin. 4.4 For products sold as a sales unit (e.g., a whole box or bag) where a permanent label is not suitable, if the fibre names and percentages of each product are identical, the fibre content label may be provided on a per‑sales‑unit basis. 4.5 When packaged products are in sale, if the fibre content information on the textile product cannot be clearly seen, the fibre content shall also be indicated on the packaging or in the instructions for use. For products sold online, the fibre content information shall be provided on the webpage. 4.6 For a set of products with identical fibre content, when delivered to the final consumer as a set, the fibre content information may be indicated on the label of only one piece in the set. 4.7 For products not intended for delivery to the final consumer, the fibre content labelling information may be replaced by commercial documents. 4.8 Permanent fibre content labels shall be non‑irritating to the human body; they shall be attached to an appropriate position on the product, and the information on the label shall be legible. 4.9 The text on fibre content labels shall be clear and legible. The text shall be in the standard Chinese characters prescribed by the state; other languages may also be used at the same time, but the Chinese labelling shall prevail. 4.10 The fibre content may be marked on the same label as other contents of the instructions for use. When different forms of fibre content labels are present on the same textile product, the content shall be consistent. 4.11 Digital labels in the form of QR codes, barcodes, radio‑frequency identification tags, etc., shall not be the sole means of labelling.
