3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
electric washing machine
appliance driven by electric energy, which is used to wash clothes under the mechanical action
Note 1: Electric washing machines are divided into the following types by the washing mode:
——impeller washing machine: washing machine in which the laundry is totally or partially immersed in the washing water, and washed by the continuous rotation or regular forward and backward rotation of the impeller.
——drum washing machine: washing machine in which the laundry is placed in the drum, partially immersed in water, and washed by the continuous rotation of the drum or regular forward and backward rotation.
——agitator washing machine: washing machine in which the laundry is totally or partially immersed in the washing water and washed by the reciprocating motion of the stirring blades.
——double-drive washing machine: washing machine in which the laundry is completely or partially immersed in the washing water, and washed by the running of the impeller or stirring blade and the inner drum, driven by power in the same system, according to the set constant speed and constant speed ratio.
Note 2: Electric washing machines are divided into the following types by the automation degree and basic structure:
——washing machine: washing machine with washing, rinsing and spinning functions switched by manual operation.
——semi-automatic washing machine: washing machine with any two of the washing, rinsing and spinning functions switched automatically without manual operation.
——automatic washing machine: washing machine with washing, rinsing and spinning functions at the same time, which can be automatically switched without manual operation.
——mini washing machine: washing machine with rated washing capacity ≤1.5kg.
——multi-drum/barrel washing machine: washing machine equipped with two or more drums (barrels) which can be used for washing function, and at least one of which has a "common (standard) washing program" for washing cotton textile.
