This standard specifies the purge and trap/gas chromatography-mass spectrometry for determining the volatile organic compounds in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of 57 volatile organic compounds in seawater, groundwater, surface water, domestic sewage and industrial wastewater. This standard, if verified, may also be applicable to the determination of other volatile organic compounds. With 5mL of sample, when determining by full scan, the method detection limit of target compound is 0.6~5.0 μg/L and the determination lower limit 2.4~20.0 μg/L; when determining by ion, they are 0.2~2.3 μg/L and 0.8~9.2 μg/L respectively, as detailed in Appendix A.
