Road traffic signal controller
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, labeling and packaging etc. of road traffic signal controller.
This standard is applicable to road traffic signal controllers used on roads, and may also serve as a reference for road traffic signal controllers used on other places.

4 Classification and model designation rule
4.1 Classification
4.1.1 Classification by functions
Road traffic signal controllers (hereinafter referred to as controllers) are classified into three categories (A, B, C) according to signal control functions, as shown in Table 1.

4.1.2 Classification by installation environment
Controllers may be classified into indoor units and outdoor units according to installation environment.
Indoor units work in non-open environment such as indoor and outdoor chassis, and outdoor units may be directly installed in open environment.
4.1.3 Classification by usage form
Controller may be classified into fixed controller and mobile controller according to their usage forms.
4.2 Model designation rule
The model of controller includes function classification, installation environment, usage form, working temperature resistance grade and enterprise self-coding, as shown in Figure
