The application and machining method of steels shall be noted in the contract. 3.3 Steels are classified into four classes by chemical compositions: a) Non-alloy tool steel ("T" is in the first place of designation); b) Alloy tool steel; c) Non-alloy mould steel ("SM" are in the first places of designation); d) Alloy mould steel. Note: Non-alloy tool steel is the original carbon tool steel.

The application and machining method of steels shall be noted in the contract. 3.3 Steels are classified into four classes by chemical compositions: a) Non-alloy tool steel ("T" is in the first place of designation); b) Alloy tool steel; c) Non-alloy mould steel ("SM" are in the first places of designation); d) Alloy mould steel. Note: Non-alloy tool steel is the original carbon tool steel.
